First Flight High School

First Flight High School, founded in 2004, offers educational instruction to students in grades nine through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 800 students and is a part of the Dare County School District. It operates on an 18-week semester block schedule, with nine-week reporting periods. The program of studies at First Flight High School offers more than 170 courses within nine disciplines. It also offers advanced placement courses in English, math, science, social science, foreign language and fine arts. The school has athletic teams in golf, track and field, softball, soccer, baseball, tennis, football, volleyball, wrestling and cross country. First Flight High School is located in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
