Blue Mountain Middle School

Blue Mountain Middle School is located in Cortland Manor, N.Y., and is a part of the Hendrick Hudson School District. It serves students in grades six through eight. The school s academic curriculum includes classes in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, business education and foreign languages. Blue Mountain Middle School additionally has physical education, family and consumer science and music departments. It also offers the English as a Second Language and English for Speakers of Other Languages programs. The school s athletics department offers a variety of sports activities, such as soccer, lacrosse, track and field, archery, gymnastics, basketball, kickball, wrestling, softball and hockey. Blue Mountain Middle School has a drama club where students can learn various aspects of theater by reading and studying plays. In addition, it supports yearbook, French, Spanish, Italian, ski, art, book and newspaper clubs. The school also has a parent-teacher association that organizes several fundraising events.
