Placitas Volunteer Fire Dept

Founded in 1973, Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade offers a range of 24-hour emergency services. It serves more than 1700 households Bernalillo, Algodones and other surrounding communities in New Mexico. The organization maintains a staff of over 35 employees. Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade operates seven days a week. It also administers a cadet program for youths between the ages of 16 and 18. The organization maintains a fleet of fire engines, pumpers, tankers and rescue vehicles. Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade responds to nearly 250 emergency medical calls annually. In addition, the organization operates fire stations, as well as provides a volunteer program.
