Berrien County Health Department

Berrien County Health Department, located in Benton Harbor, Mich., takes steps to prevent disease and protect the health of the community of Berrien County. The department continuously evaluates the community-wide health needs, with emphasis on vulnerable areas. The evaluation is done through the development of comprehensive population-based health policies, both personal and environmental, and through collaboration and cooperation will all health care organizations and the community to provide health services. The department offers a variety of clinics to the public including, hearing and vision screening for children, HIV-AIDS case management, immunizations, tuberculosis control, flu and pneumonia clinics, disease outbreak control, lead poisoning follow-up, and public health nursing, which provides home visits, school consultations, and chronic and communicable disease control.
