The telecommunications provider s family includes Cameron Telephone Company, Elizabeth Telephone Company, Cameron Telephone Company-Texas, Cameron Long Distance, Carlyss Cablevision and Cameron Publishing. Cameron Communications was established in 1928 as a telephone service provider for Cameron Parish. The company remains family-owned and operated and now has headquarters in Sulphur, La. It also operates Project Live, a program that allows several local schools to communicate via live broadcasts, and Telemedicine, which connects patients and medical personnel at a number of regional hospitals.
