Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center

Founded in 1973, the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center serves several communities in northwestern Kansas, including 19 unified school districts. It is governed by a board of directors made up of one board member from each district. The Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center serves more than 6,700 students and over 900 teachers. It employs approximately 285 certified and noncertified staff members. The geographic area of the service center encompasses 13 counties covering over 12,000 square miles. The Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center offers special education, Head Start and Parents as Teachers programs. It publishes bi-monthly newsletters and is located in Oakley, Kan.
