Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center

Established by the Kansas Legislature in 1968 as the central law enforcement training facility, the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) serves as the headquarters for all law enforcement training in the state. It provides comprehensive training and support to the state s law enforcement officers. The center is a unit of the University of Kansas Continuing Education and University Outreach. The Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center trains the majority of municipal, county and state law enforcement officers in Kansas, as well as oversees, supervises and monitors the training the continued training of on duty officers officers. It maintains more than five authorized and certified academy programs operated by local law enforcement agencies and the Kansas Highway Patrol. The Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center is located in Hutchinson, Kan.
