The Romeoville Police Department is a public agency that provides a range of crime preventive, investigative, and enforcement services. It administers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which teaches basic decision making skills and how to effectively deal with peer pressure in order to stay away from drugs. The department deals in the offenses of murder, rape, robbery, assault, kidnapping, suicide and sudden suspicious deaths. The department also works to investigate commercial and residential burglaries. It operates the Citizen's Police Academy. The Romeoville Police Department is governed by the Village of Romeoville in Illinois, which additionally manages several finance, fire, public works and parks and recreation departments.
