Illinois Cancer Care

The Oncology Hematology Association, located in Peoria, Ill., is a private practice treating patients with cancer and blood diseases. It was founded in 1977 and has been providing patient care; research on methods of treating, curing and preventing cancer and blood diseases; and promoting cancer education and awareness. More than 6,000 of its patients have participated in research studies through the Illinois Oncology Research Association. Its research and case studies are being conducted through the Community Clinical Oncology Program, a federal program that brings the benefits of clinical research to cancer patients in their hometown. It has a care team that includes midlevel providers, registered nurses and oncology-certified nurses. Additionally, the Oncology Hematology Association s care center includes radiation oncology, CT scans, an X-ray laboratory and a retail pharmacy for its cancer patients.
