Prairie Farms has four joint venture cooperative dairy cooperative arrangements. For each, Prairie Farms serves as the managing partner, with other partners responsible for raw milk supply. Joint Venture partners include Hiland Dairy Foods in Springfield, Mo., Roberts Dairy in Omaha Neb., Muller Pinehurst Dairy in Rockford, Ill. and Ideal American in Evansville, Ind. Prairie Farms subsidiaries include Ice Cream Specialties, a manufacturer and distributor of all types of frozen treats; PFD Supply, a primary one-stop distributor of products to fast food outlets. Prairie Farms, started in 1938, has headquarters in Carlinville, Ill.
