The American-style restaurant chain is a unit of the Carlson Companies. The restaurant s name is taken from the phrase TGIF , or Thank Goodness it's Friday. Founded in 1965 in New York City, Friday s features bar food, alcoholic beverages and a cuisine that consists of chicken and shrimp, quesadillas, chicken fingers, pasta, soups and salads, fish and a variety of desserts. T.G.I. Friday s also offers frozen snacks manufactured by Heinz as well as salted snacks, alcoholic blenders, alcoholic on the rocks and non-alcoholic mixers available at grocery stores.
