R M Moore School

Established in 1951, R.M. Moore Elementary School is a learning center that provides academic instruction to more than 550 students in pre-kindergarten through grade six. It offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. The school conducts classes in language arts, math, reading, science and social science. It supports various activities, including art, music and physical education. R.M. Moore Elementary School has a counseling department that employs guidance counselors who serve teachers and parents by providing information that assists in meeting the academic and emotional needs of students. It operates the Beta club and student council. The school works in collaboration with Waleska United Methodist Church and Townsend Pipeline Construction. It has a parent-teacher-student association that works for the overall development of the school. R.M. Moore Elementary School is administered by the Cherokee County School District, which operates through curriculum, public information, special education, transportation and technology departments.
