The Caboose

After purchasing a train set for his son Michael in 1968, Armand became interested in model trains. He started collecting old time steam locos and logging engines. In 1969 Armand opened a business called The Caboose ( a basement operation ). Initially it was a hobby shop specializing in model trains. From its inception the plan was to build its inventory of brass models. As the business grew, more people were employed, ads were placed in Model Railroader Magazine and the production of a catalog launched The Caboose into a global market place. In 1982 a building was purchased in Wolcott, CT and The Hobby Gallery began. At that time, The Hobby Gallery became a full line hobby shop. Caboose located ( in Barn ) at 5 Mohawk Drive, Wolcott, CT began specializing in the sale of brass model trains. Armand is well known in the Brass Model Train Industry. His continued desire to excel in Customer Service as well as his honest, generous and good nature has put him at the top of his league. Many admire him his Customers, the Importers and Retailers alike. Caboose LLC is an International Mail Order & Internet Retailer specializing in Brass Model Trains. We are always taking reservations for future models. We sell new and previously owned brass models. We buy collections and individual pieces. We also provide a consignment and e-bay service for our customers.
