The Public Works Department is administered by the government of the City of Montrose in Colorado. The department develops, maintains and operates various city-owned infrastructure, including streets, parks, trails, and water, sewer and wastewater systems. It maintains engineering, sanitation, wastewater treatment, utilities, and construction and fleet management divisions. The Public Works Department also repairs and maintains more than 100 miles of streets, as well as traffic control signs, alleys, curbs, gutters and storm drain systems through its streets division. The department collects and disposes commercial and residential trashes. In addition, it offers spring cleanup and fall leaf pick-up solutions. The Public Works Department maintains a green waste drop-off center that offers sanitation services for lawn clippings, garden plants, weeds, leaves, hedges and tree trimmings.
