Trader Joe's is a privately held chain that maintains more than 300 specialty grocery stores in over 25 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1958, the chain sells low-sodium, vegetarian, gourmet and organic foods. Its stores offer candies, breads, cookies and beverages. Trader Joe's provides dietary supplements, cereals, jellies, dressings and marinades. It also offers nonfood items, including personal hygiene products, household cleaners and vitamins.
