Local 12

Founded in 1954, Operating Engineers Funds is a nonprofit corporation that administers employee benefit programs for more than 34,000 participants of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 12, and their dependents and beneficiaries. It also offers apprentice training programs for engineers who work for the public and private construction companies as heavy equipment operators, mechanics, soil testers, inspectors and surveyors. The corporation provides health care coverage plans for medical, hospital and prescription drug expenses, as well as life insurance, vision care and dental benefits. Operating Engineers Funds also offers pension plans for active members, retirees, doctors and other health care providers. The corporation maintains a location in Pasadena, Calif.
