Annabel's Books is an independent bookstore open for 14 years. We are family run business. Annabels is located in the Matanuska Susitna Valley of South Central Alaska in Wasilla. The basis for the bookstore is simple. It's all about a passion for reading and a passion for finding new books. As multi generation lifelong Alaskan family we know how much a good book is worth. Whether its the middle of winter, snowing outside and youre curled up by the fireplace with a good book or in the summer, camped next to the river its best to have book. Our family reads. Richard, affectionately known as Dad, is the science fiction, war and adventure fiction and non-fiction reader. Mom, many people think she is Annabel but her name is Carol, is mystery with a mix of this that. The rest of us range in reading tastes from: how to books, gardening, Arctic, Alaskana, romance, horror and true crime. The house would always hold a good mix of books to choose from when you ran out of something to read. And everyone shopped books. That's why our motto is: Where Books Find You. We started as a small bookstore in a downstairs basement location and quickly grew moving to a ground floor location double in size. We sell all types of books from science to religion, fiction and non-fiction, paperback, hardback and audio. The location used to have a Home School supplier so we added Home School and teaching materials. Our excellent used book sections on classics, history and geography fit well with the teaching community and students interest. We became a vendor for homeschoolers, students shop at Annabels and we bill the school. We also sell on the internet to locations across the world. We focus on selling to the bush in Alaska serving our homeschoolers and sending boxes of books to villages to supplying our military bases. We have shipped to England, Australia, Honk Kong and more. We always have a selection of new books especially Alaska books, local authors and seasonal selections with summer and holidays. With the closing of corporate bookstore, Waldens, we have increased our new books selection to ensure our customers can shop locally. We still have our favorite and ever changing selection of used books. Buying used books enables readers to inexpensively discover new authors while stocking up on their old favorites. Today, our store is almost to the rafters with a treasure trove of around 50,000 titles of new, used and rare books. Enough to keep all book lovers busy.
